SNOWGLOW
AT THE DOME

THE ALPINE HOTEL

This year, Snowglow is transformed into The Alpine Hotel, a fictional 1970s European mountain resort reimagined high above Union Market. Drawing inspiration from vintage Alpine hospitality, the hotel is dressed for the holidays in saturated jewel tones, warm woods, tailored textiles, vintage-inspired graphics, and layers of festive details.

Guests are welcomed into The Summit Lounge before continuing into the Dome, which offers intimate seating for 72 guests and sets the stage for dining beneath Dario Spinelli’s immersive visual experience.

The physical setting and projected world unfold as different parts of the same story, carrying guests deeper into the imagined life of the Alpine Hotel. Part mountain retreat, part rooftop hideaway, the hotel has its own visual language, personality and history, right down to its fictional founding date: Established 1931, a nod to the year Union Market itself was established.

Projected above and 360 degrees around the walls of The Dome, this year’s awe-inspiring visual experience was created by artist Dario Spinelli.

Inspired by the imagined world of The Alpine Hotel, and projected above and 360 degrees around the walls of the Dome, the visuals will take guests on a dreamlike winter journey through shifting landscapes, color, scale and perception — from expansive night skies and northern lights to glowing Alpine scenes and kaleidoscopic moments that transform the Dome into a world all its own. The result is an immersive world that plays with the Dome’s natural resemblance to a snow globe — as if the entire room itself is being turned in someone’s hand.

THE VISUAL EXPERIENCE

Snowglow’s holiday food and beverage menus will take inspiration from Alpine lodges and holiday tables: warming, hearty, shareable fare that brings everyone together, family-style, and cocktails rooted in classic hotel-bar traditions.

Guests may find warm pretzels with Champagne mustard, flaky sausage rolls, truffled Gouda grilled cheese with tomato soup, brie en croûte with fig jam and a seafood-forward take on a traditional charcuterie board; while sweets get extra attention, with a "turn down service" dessert menu ranging from s’mores-inspired tiramisu to boozy dessert shooters.

COMFORTING SMALL PLATES

At the bar, the cocktail list will look to another great hotel tradition: the lobby bar. Snowglow’s drinks will showcase classic cocktails created or popularized in famous hotel bars around the world, each accompanied by a short piece of cocktail history tying it back to its origins.

The experience will also feature refined European wines, seasonal hot drinks and zero-proof offerings.

SPIRITED + HOT COCKTAILS

Located on the Rooftop at Union Market, find our 50-foot spherical dome high above the bustle of the city, designed to provide unique and seasonal visual experiences throughout the year.

Do I need a reservation?

For our Snowglow in the Dome experience, yes, pre-paid reservations are required and can be made for groups up to 16 on Tock.

Due to our limited space and table configuration, reservations are only available in groups of 2-16. For larger groups, please email us info@hilawndc.com.

*Lap children under 2 are free, but any child under 2 who requires a physical seat will need to purchase a ticket.

If you can’t secure tickets to the Dome, or just want to have some holiday drinks in a festive bar, join us in our open-to-the-public Summit Lounge, where reservations are not required, and entry is first-come first-served!

How much are tickets and what do they include?

Tickets range between $29-$36 (+tax) which include entry to The Dome, a complimentary welcome beverage, a reserved seating area, and the visual experience. Reservations are limited to 90 minutes.

Lap children under 2 are free, but any child under 2 who requires a physical seat will need to purchase a ticket.

*Please note: tickets are non-refundable but transferrable.

When are you open?

The “Snowglow” experience will run from November 20 through January 3. We will be open seven days a week (unless otherwise noted), with 90-minute seatings daily.

What is the “Snowglow” visual experience?

This year’s Snowglow will feature an all-new, immersive visual experience by artist Dario Spinelli, unfolding across the Dome’s 360-degree projection environment.

What time should I arrive for my reservation?

We highly suggest arriving between 15-30 minutes before your reservation time to allow for check-in. We have a tented & heated Summit Lounge, where you’re welcome to come as early or stay as late as you’d like (during business hours) and enjoy drinks before or after the show!

Entry to The Dome itself will not be granted until your reservation time, and guests will be required to vacate their tables upon the conclusion of their 90-minute experience to allow for resetting of the space (but again, you’re welcome to bring your drinks to our heated lounge bar and continue to enjoy your evening with us)!

*For late arrivals, we do understand delays happen, but please note: your reservation only lasts for 90 minutes from start time so please try to arrive early or on time to maximize your experience!

What are your food and drink options?

Snowglow’s holiday food and beverage menus will take inspiration from Alpine lodges and holiday tables: warming, hearty, shareable fare that brings everyone together, family-style, and cocktails rooted in classic hotel-bar traditions. Food and drinks are sold a la carte.

Is there a food/beverage minimum spend?

No, you’re welcome to join us for a full food and beverage experience, casual drinks and snacks, an after-dinner drink and dessert, or just some late-night cocktails; whatever strikes your fancy!

Can I bring my own food and drink?

No, outside food or beverage is prohibited.

Is your space covered and/or heated?

Yes, Snowglow at The Dome is hosted inside a 50-foot spherical dome tent on the Rooftop at Union Market, weather-proof from the elements. It is heated to between 60-70 degrees, so we do recommend dressing for the weather and bringing the winter vibes to life!

Our Summit Lounge is also tented and fully heated.

Are there any age restrictions?

We host both all-ages and 21+ shows, depending on the time of day.

Do you host private events?

Absolutely! For events/private dining larger than 16, please email events@thedomedc.com.
