Meet your new ‘pitch-perfect’ World Soccer viewing destination.
We’re turning our sprawling rooftop green space into DC’s ultimate global soccer viewing destination, bringing the energy of the world’s biggest soccer tournament to the rooftop above Union Market from June 11 through July 19.
We’re temporarily transforming our signature turf lawn into a giant soccer pitch-inspired viewing experience, complete with a painted field design, oversized LED screens airing matches daily, entertainment, drink specials and more.
To anchor the experience, we’re installing a massive 8’ x 12’ LED screen on the lawn, alongside an additional 100-inch viewing screen under the open-sided bar tent, creating one of the city’s largest open-air watch party setups.
Beyond the daily matches themselves, we’ll continue hosting our lineup of crowd-favorite programming throughout the tournament, giving you even more reasons to gather on the rooftop all summer long. Soccer fans can pair match viewing with daily trivia, bingo nights, live music, DJs and additional themed events, turning the summer soccer experience into an all-day, all-night social destination above Union Market.
World soccer viewing events are open to the public, free to attend.

Which games are you showing?

What are your viewing options?
We’ll air games on a massive 12’ X 8’ LED screen centered on our open-air lawn, plus a large 100” TV under our open-sided bar tent (providing both covered and uncovered viewing options),
Do I need a reservation? Do you take walk-ins?
We save most of our space for walk-ins (with plenty of open space so come on up!). However, we do also take limited reservations for parties of up to 20 on Resy. The lawn is always open seating (BYO picnic blankets to set up on the turf)!

What are your seating options like?
We have an expansive rooftop space with open-air seating available at picnic, hightop and lounge tables on the decking and lawn. We also have plenty of table seating under an airy, overhead-tented space with a TV and direct bar access.
Can I bring up food from Union Market downstairs, or outside food?
Most of our tables are reserved for Hi-Lawn food only, but we do have a few walk-ins-only tables for outside food specifically from Union Market vendors downstairs, or can bring outside cakes/cupcakes for special celebrations. But all outside alcohol is strictly prohibited.
Do you allow smoking?
No. No smoking or vaping allowed.
Is your space covered?
We do have both open-air and tented/covered areas of the rooftop, which allows us to remain open in cases of rain.
Are there any activities on the roof?
We offer a selection of lawn games, including Cornhole. We also host free weekly events including bingo, live music, trivia and more. See our event calendar for more details.
How do I place an order?
We offer contactless QR code ordering for convenience, but you can also order directly at the bar.
How do I get up to the roof?
Guests can access Hi-Lawn through the dedicated rooftop staircase at the front-east entrance to Union Market, adjacent to Suburbia. There is also an ADA access elevator.If you’re driving, we suggest parking in the garage at the Gables Union Market (the building behind us, accessible from 6th St. NE) where they offer free parking for up to 3 hours.
