For the last of the winter season, Hi-Lawn and The Dome above Union Market transform into Snow Daze Social: DC’s premier “snow day” inspired retreat with free game and karaoke nights, immersive visuals, retro menus, and psychedelic weekend “visual vinyl” DJ nights.
Snow Daze Social’s vibe is "the ultimate snow day" -- leaning into the nostalgic fun of a childhood snow day (now for grown-ups), bringing a "third space" community feel (a home away from home).

THE ULTIMATE SNOW DAY RETREAT
Located on the Rooftop at Union Market, find our 50-foot spherical dome and tented lounge bar high above the bustle of the city.
Heavily heated and outfitted with lounge furniture, rugs and layered textiles and warm lighting, Snow Daze Social is a cozy seasonal retreat with an exciting lineup of daily programming and events like bingo and karaoke.
Snow Daze Social is open Wednesday-Saturday with free entry at all times except for Friday and Saturday’s SnowByrd vinyl parties.
OUR SPACE
We’re bringing big throwback energy with childhood snack-inspired “pantry raid” dishes and drinks.
To nosh, find Doritos-dusted Fried Pickles, Crab Rangoon Mozzarella Sticks, a Hot Pocket riff, an Asian-inspired Hi-Rib Sandwich (roasted bo ssam style pork, scallion relish, kimchi pickles), Quesabirria Egg Rolls, house Chex Mix, and Little Debbie-inspired “pony” cakes.
And to drink, sip spicy Takis Margaritas, Hot Dr. Pepper, “Ed Edd & Deep Eddy” orange crushes, Tang-aritas, Swedish fish shooters, “Reheated Rivalry” pops and peppermint schnapps-spiked hot cocoa.
THROWBACK MENUS
On Fridays and Saturdays, we’re partnering with market neighbors Byrdland Records for a weekend “visual vinyl” residency, SnowByrd. SnowByrd isn’t just a DJ set; it’s a full-spectrum immersion. Combining the raw, organic crackle of all-vinyl curation with custom-built psychedelic visuals projected 360 degrees around the walls of The Dome, SnowByrd bridges the gap between the analog past and a trippy, projected future.
Entry to SnowByrd (exclusive to The Dome) is just $10, Fridays from 7-11:30pm and Saturdays from 5-10:30pm.
SNOWBYRD: WEEKEND “VISUAL VINYL” PARTIES
On Wednesdays, play free Bingo in the Dome starting at 7pm (with prizes to win, first-come first-served seating), and on Thursdays, belt out your favorites tunes at Karaoke in the Dome from 7-11:30pm.
In addition to special daily events, we’re stocked with a library of communal board games, plus active table games like foosball and darts, and TVs and projectors to show sports and old-school winter movies.
GAMES & OTHER EVENTS
We’re mimicking "frozen in time" pricing with a Decades Deals happy hour, Wednesday-Friday from 5-7pm, and Saturday from 12-5pm. Enjoy $10 cocktails, $5 shooters, $6 draft beers, and $3 crab rangoon mozzarella sticks and quesabirria egg rolls. And when it snows, we’ll give out free hot cocoa.

Is entry free?
Yes, entry to the heated lounge is always free. Entry to the Dome is also free at all times except for during our weekend “SnowByrd” vinyl DJ parties (Fridays from 7-11:30pm and Saturdays from 5-10:30pm) when Dome entry is $10., Resy.
Do I need a reservation?
No, we save most of our space for walk-ins but limited lounge reservations are available on Resy.
When are you open?
Snow Daze Social is open through winter four days a week: Wednesday from 5-10pm, Thursday from 5-11:30pm, Friday from 5-11:30pm, and Saturday from noon-11:30pm.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
No, outside food or beverage is prohibited.
Is your space covered and/or temperature controlled?
Yes, our lounge and Dome on the Rooftop at Union Market, are tented, weather-proof from the elements. We have a heavy-duty heating system, keeping the space warm and comfortable in the winter.
Are there any age restrictions?
Snow Daze Social is 21+ after 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Do you host private events?
Absolutely! For events/private dining larger than 6, please email events@thedomedc.com.
How do I get to the dome?
The Dome is located at Hi-Lawn, the rooftop above Union Market. Guests can access The Dome through the (ADA accessible) elevator or the staircase at the front-east entrance to Union Market (near the corner of 6th St. NE & Neal Place).
If you’re driving, we suggest parking in the garage at the Gables Union Market (the building behind us, accessible from 6th St. NE) where they offer free parking for up to 3 hours.
Any other policies I should know about?
No smoking or vaping allowed. No pets allowed.
